Anti-Doping Education, Management & Sports Governance Training

On 28 December 2024, the Gambia Swimming & Aquatic Sports Association (GSASA) conducted a comprehensive training session on "Anti-Doping Education, Management, and Sports Governance." The event brought together key stakeholders, experts, and sports enthusiasts to address critical aspects of sports integrity, effective management, and transparent governance.

The session began with welcoming remarks by the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) President, Mr. Bai Dodou Jallow, who emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity and ethical standards in sports.

Dr. Jagne led an informative presentation on anti-doping education, highlighting the detrimental effects of doping on athletes and the sports community, and covered various strategies to prevent doping and promote fair play.

Yorro Njie delivered insightful presentations on sports management and sports governance. His sessions provided valuable insights into managing sports organizations efficiently, focusing on leadership, transparency, and ethical decision-making. Practical examples and case studies were used to illustrate best practices in governance.

The Vice President of GSASA concluded the event with closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all participants and speakers. He underscored the importance of applying the knowledge gained to foster a clean, well-managed, and transparent sports environment in The Gambia.

The training session was a resounding success, equipping attendees with essential knowledge and tools to uphold the principles of fair play, effective management, and good governance.
