One of the athletes of the association, Mr. Ousman Jobe, was awarded a World Aquatics Scholarship to train at the Thanyapura Training Center in Thailand. The duration of his scholarship is expected to be one year, from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024. As part of Ousman’s training, he will also participate in international swimming competitions.
The World Aquatics Scholarships Programme was launched in 2014 with the purpose of providing financial and technical assistance to athletes with internationally recognized sporting achievements, but without favorable or sufficient conditions to train locally. The programme targets 100 Swimmers, 20 Open Water Swimmers, 20 Divers, and 10 Artistic Swimming Duets worldwide. However, each World Aquatics Member can apply with one (1) athlete per discipline.
