First-ever appearance at a World Championship, first-ever female Gambian swimmer to compete in a women's 200m breaststroke, setting a new personal best and of course a national record in the women's 200m breaststroke. Who else would it be if not the one and only Aminata Nia-Maria Barrow (fondly called Amie Barrow). Amie competed today, the 27 July 2023, in the women's 200m breaststroke and recorded a remarkable timing of 2:37.01 in Heat 1 of the event. She came out first in Heat 1. What a debut for this talented young swimmer!
Congrats Amie!
